I'm just in the process of having a Man cave built at the top of the garden and wondered if any members here have a special hide away.

Stage 1 Take down 2 sheds and level ground for the builder.

Stage 2 Return from work to find builder had dug out foundation

Cheers, it should develop quite quickly, it also helps that the builder lives 20 yards away:D. It should look like a small bungalow with patio doors when finished.

You'll turn your back one day and she'll move her mother in there .............

aww threads like this make me jealous..

we want lots of man toys and gadgets! :D

Well the list will be tools, some studio gear, scalextric, beer fridge, pool table and projector....for now

Is your cave going to have a lock on It? If so, take the key in with you so that your oh can't lock you in. A colleague of mine did this to her hubby (accidentally) and then couldn't understand why he hadn't come in for his evening meal. He was locked in for over 3hrs

I had a 27'x14' sectional garage built at the back of my garden last year. Currently it houses a kit car I'm working on and some of my toolkit.

There's no one that I'm hiding from though!

Make sure its got sky tv and a bar :naughty:

If all goes well, I'll be buying a house that has a brick build games room (currently complete with bar, full size pool table and two fruit machines) at the end of a 101ft garden :D

Although the pool and fruit machines will go with the current owner, the bar will remain ;)

What times the party start:D I think all of tp should turn up and check out your optics :naughty:

Scott,

You forgot "bed" for when you're in the dog house:lol:

Sounds a great plan - hope all goes well.

Ken

I don't want to make it too comfy or she might make it my permanent home.

Sounds pretty cool, my garden is about 115ft before the Cave is built.

Cheers Ken, after it's all finished kellie will have to be careful sending me to the dog house as I won't complain.

I suppose you chaps deserve a hidey-hole.....we tend to turn the entire house into our dens

I could give you a hand....

What's your address.... ;-)

label all your DVD 'collection' with boring names such as 'the olympics opening ceremony', 'fa cup final 1984' etc... so that they will not arouse suspicion :naughty:

i converted a double garage into what we call 'the red room'... red carpet, red chair, man united shirts on the wall etc.. then a HD projector hooked up to sky HD and PS3... as long as i'm fed and watered i could easily live in there  Very cheap and easy to wire the little £40 speakers in all corners of the ceiling and a mother of a sub behind the reclining chairs for cinema experience

I'm naming it the Bat Cave and we all know that location is secret :D

Floor space should be about 30 sq metres for permitted development.....ish ;)Already have an oldish projector that will be fine for the standard DVD collection and an old surround sound system. It's about 25M away from the house so running a cable won't be cheap :(

OH has the spare room as his "den" or skip as i call it, needs a good clear out. the recently acquired fruit machine lives in the dining room though. think im far too good to him as it was me who got the fruit machine and said it could live in there

Concrete base done, all mixed on site with about 10 tonnes of ballast.

How many tons did it take to lay and how thick is it?

How many tons did it take to lay and how thick is it?

12 tonnes of ballast delivered and about 1 to 2 tonne left. Not too sure on the thickness but looked about 14-16 inches at the edges for the walls and about 8 ish for the floor area but they are guesses.
