I've recently purchased a Mamiya RB67 pro S and I want to add a polaroid back. As I understand it polaroid backs weren't made for this camera only the RZ67 and that if I want to use a polaroid back I need the P adapter. Is this correct? I've also seen reference to an M adaptor, what was this for? Are there different types of polaroid backs or are they all the same?

Thanks

different types, mine goes straight onto the camera, no rotating back, no adapter

no model number or id that I can see :(
get a 7x7 print, centered, other type of back maybe offset I think

There's a rare Arca back that does two side-by-side prints on one sheet (exposed separately), both of mine are 7x7 centrally placed - one needs the adapter the other doesn't. There's a long thread somewhere in this section about shooting instant with the RB,I'm sure there are comparison images showing the differences between the backs that need an adapter and those that don't.

Some of the wider lenses will vignette on the 7x7 instant frame - the Sekor C 65mm vignettes in the corners - see samples

It's well worth tracking down some Fuji FP-3000B if you can get hold of some - the resolution of detail using the Sekor lenses is fantastic. It was a far superior instant film to the FP-100C.

Do remember to tie a length of bright ribbon to the handle of the dark slide on the P-back, it doesn't interlock like the normal backs do!

Thanks for the picture Paul, I've taken a punt on one on the flea bay, not cheap but its something I really want to have a play with.

Alistair, thanks for the tips, will check out the black and white if there's any left floating about.
