Mamiya Pro S, shutter cocking lever stuck?.

Ok.... I'm sure it's something I'm doing wrong here.....but....
I have two 120 backs, when I use one of them, and I've taken a frame, sometimes the shutter cocking lever gets stuck.... when it does I can't wind on the film advance lever either.... in fact I can't press anything to make it work
Some times I manage to 'fix' it,(I don't know how though).
Can someone give me a clue as to what I'm doing wrong(I don't use the Mamiya often enough to remember all I need to do, especially things like taking the dark slide out before I take a picture! :bonk:....still at least I remembered to take a meter reading this time)

@excalibur no, not exactly, did you mean the film winding lever(I can get that to return)...

When I have advanced to my next frame, by using the film advance lever, then the shutter won't cock( ok forgive the poor use of terminology...the lever on the side) I can't take a picture then, as my shutter button won't press either....and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong...something simple no doubt.
 
I've had similar issues in the past, usually resolved by checking all of the interlocks and then giving it a bit of a bash with my hand. If it's happening regularly then it'd be best to open it up by unscrewing the side and base panels and check nothing is catching when you try everything.

Ok, Rob, thank you, but..... that was a bit too technical for my female brain to grasp sorry...... I know how to hit things, but I didn't really understand the rest....:lol:
It doesn't happen with the back that came with the camera, only the spare back I recently got..... I'll try and read up on 'backs', and try and figure out what you mean.

In that case, can you upload a photo of both of the backs next to each other (side facing the RB67 up!) and I'll compare them to mine and see if there is anything untoward
 
Well I've just played with mine, but not with a film in it...and if the sliding switch beside the film winder is set to red then you can cock the shutter (lever on the side) but can't fire the shutter....probably not much help posting this without a film in the camera though :shrug:
 
I've just remembered.... I am also unable to remove the lens when it's 'stuck', I can only do that once it's 'unstuck' and I've been able to take the photo....then I can change lenses.
 
That makes sense, you can't unlock the lens on a Rb67 unless it's been cocked.
