Yes
The boss has just dumped a faulty Mamiya Korvette on my desk to see if I can sort it out. It has been in storage for some time, the focus ring was very very stiff to move but has freed up and is working ok now. Fault is with the shutter, when I wind it on and hit the button there is a faint tic from inside, I assume the aperture closing, but the shutter doesn't open. If I then fiddle with the shutter speed dial on the lens it fires. Although there doesn't seem to be a shutter curtain, there is a black door the flicks up and down again. I know next to nothing about this camera, all info would be useful.
TIA

Not heard of one of those either

But after doing the old google shuffle I found this link http://herron.50megs.com/fixed-1.htm

I have only quickly looked at it but it seems to give some info on the camera plus near a link to "How to fix things".

Hope its of some help

Thanks for looking but I've read that site already and it doesn't help me much.

Also to note I think the camera is in bulb mode at all shutter speeds apart from the 1/250th which seems to be very slow, maybe 1/15 ? It's almost as if the whole thing is out of line

I know this may not be of any help to you right now, but if there is a fault on the camera you could try a repairers called JD Camtech:

http://www.jdcamtech.com

They do repair medium-format Mamiya's, but I don't know whether they'll repair 35mm. With this particular model dating back to the early 1960's, it may prove difficult to obtain spares if they're needed, but your boss may want to give them a try.

To be honest I don't think it would be worth the postage

With nothing to lose I will be pulling this apart this afternoon....

Anyone think of anything I should know before I start?

Don't try and unscrew the lens would have been good advice :bonk:

On the up side the shutter seems to work, and I expect it will take photos but the shutter speeds are wrong still, we've got Bulb and a random something that seems to be different each time.

At least you'll be able to give it to the next person that asks.
