The final lens of the Mamiya CS series I bought off ebay arrived today. It states that this lens is unused and I can well believe it. Built in lens hood and the little gold, date code sticker looks as fresh as the day it was attached. I think it was manufactured in 1979. How can a 46 year old lens be in such good nick? What's the story behind the person who bought it? It cost me £42. Can't be many mint lens out there for that sort of price.

Looks lovely.

You have to be careful though as hunting for nice lenses in good condition at a good price can get addictive :D

I hope you have many years of use and fun out of it.

I need to stop looking, definitely. I prefer to use 35mm rather than 50mm but they are harder to find and cost a great deal more.

I don't know the system, all I know a little about are mass market film era FF lenses. In those 50mm and 28mm often seem to be cheaper than 35mm's. Is there a 28mm you can look at rather than a 35mm?

Haven't you found the 28 and 35 already, see your other thread? I thought the 135 was part of that deal, but it didn't appear in the picture. Anyway, that's a good spread of lenses, should see you through many happy years...

Sorry if I haven't made it clear. I have the 50mm f1.7 Sekkor that came with the Mamiya NC1000. I now have a 28mm, 35mm, 50mm, 135mm, Bit excessive but I don't drink (only a little), don't waste money on clothes etc etc. I'm happy snapping in both film and digital. I have an exhibition in a local museum which has been running for over a year, life is good to me at the moment.

It was part of the deal but hadn't arrived. It's going away until Xmas, a sensible pressie from her indoors.
