Makeover and Photo shoot as a gift...

I wonder if anyone on here owns or could recommend a studio that does makeover and photo shoot type packages or something similar in Scotland or within a few hours drive of Edinburgh for a reasonable price? (read cheap:p)

It's my girlfriends 21st next week and I have seen a lot of these "experience days" companies offering (pro?) hair and make up styling for her followed by a pro photo shoot for both of us and the prices seem very reasonable only problem is the nearest studio is Manchester and I'd rather go somewhere closer and with a recommendation. :)

I'd give Edinburgh Gary a shout on here first... Not sure if he'd be able to help with the make-up bit though (I think he's happy with his complexion already ;))

Yeah, I was just looking at Inspire's website! Does Gary run Inspire then? I'll drop him a PM.
LOL!, Ya never know he might have a natural talent for it... :naughty: :p Failing that wonder if he has any connections for hair and make-up etc (for her obviously, I'm good the way I am)

Ranging from £15 to £**** but the ones I was looking at are around £20-£45, I know it's not much, but I'm super skint at the moment and have two weddings to attend this month one of which is in Italy, as well as her other presents :eek:

There's a place in Newcastle, I went there about 10 years ago. The prices then were about £15 for the shoot, then photos started at £50 each and they did a package where you bought the slides and copyright for them for £200. Called Makeover 2000 ;)

Happy to help, however I need a little time to organise someone for the hair and make up. As a result of you being a fellow photographer, and as a result of your membership here, everything but the hair / make up is on the house :)

In return, I would like you to provide feedback and tell me how I can really improve the MAKE OVER days - it's been on my task list for about 6 months, and I have yet to get round to it. You guys will be my guineapigs :D

TO CLARIFY:
I will try and find someone who can do the hair and makeup, and her costs will be covered by you guys. The rest of "the experience" will be taken care of by INSPIRE, and a DVD of say, 10 full resolution images supplied free of charge.

If the birthday is soon, I won't be able to supply the photo's in time. The experience itself can be the present, and the photos will obviously follow.

Please let me know if this is acceptable.

Erm yeah... the birthday is on Monday and as usual I have left everything to the last minute! :bonk: I know that would be way too short notice, but we're busy on the day anyways, so just let me know when you can sort this for? :thumbs:

Celo - I think a bottle of something rather nice would be in order! ;)
 
Gary, register with Model Mayhem etc and do a casting call for make up artist and hair stylist for TFCD and you should get a few takers............
 
Done my bit downstairs all neat and tidy.Table mirrors etc now Mr G work your magic :)

We had a lovely time taking your photos - the energy was great, atmosphere fandabby, and as a result of today - I'm super keen to turn this into something we offer going forward....

Photos in due course, I'm exhausted :). Two of us did the shooting, half way through the shoot I was distracted by a STUPID phonecall and passed over to David (not a member here), and at that point, I helped with posing.

We all had a pretty good time, and Sean and Tracey are a hoot - it was a lot of fun.

I'm keen to do it again soon!

Yup was a fun day pity we coudnt find the scarf though, but a lovely couple who put up up with a long shoot very well. :)
 
How fabulous Gary - what a great offer! Bet they had a fabulous day and ended up with brilliant piccies to boot. Moi - Jealous much?? lol
