Make your own Camera strap..

i know someone who works in leather.. but i think i would be worried.

Most of my wives scarfs cost more than my black rapid did anyway, oh and none of them really suit me!

I used to work in leather - jacket and trousers were de rigeur for despatch riders! I did make a couple of leather guitar straps some years back but the most important bits (the fastenings) were Schaller strap locks and the straps were (and still are) proper belt leather.

Nod the guy i knows does belts straps bags ect.. i am thinking about it only because it will be something to do and it is a bit silly and if i did and i wouldn't use it in the rain soggy neck strap no thank you.

As I like the narrow solid leather adjustable straps of the 50's and 60's
I made my own for my X20. Properly saddle stitched with stainless and bronze stud fittings and nylon cord loops. (It can lift my weight 14.5 stones)

Though I must say those scarf straps look the part for the fashion concious female.
A silk scarf would be strong enough to lift or strangle any one who took the pi$$ (Though those alloy clips need replacing with stainless steel ones.)

I'd quite happily risk it. But then again I know how to sew.

I think round about step 6 I'd have tied the scarf to the ring and used the leather to enclose the knot. Just seems daft to rely on one row is stitching through the leather and scarf to hold either end - it's a major flaw in that project.
