I have noticed over the last year or so that there are not many posts in certain camera threads.
With the advancements in mirrorless cameras and what they are capable of, what do you use as your main camera.
I have a feeling what the results will show but I am interested to see what the numbers turn out to be.

Nikon D850, but I find I use my MF film cameras more and more as I find digital 'lacking'.

Have a z6ii and D750 but looking at moving from D750 to another mirrorless body as getting too used to the EVF of the z6ii.

I see M43 cameras have been omitted in the poll above. so yet another rigged vote ;)

Nikon D5 for me, does everything I need.

What? Surely they're just super heavily cropped mirrorless?

It's the colloidal glass plates that are really missing...

I think there could be a couple of reasons for what you are seeing - generally speaking, I actually find the camera itself the least interesting part of photography - I've got 4 camera bodies I use regularly - a Canon 5D3, 5D4, R6 and R6II.

In truth, apart from AF, there isn't much difference between them. Is the image better on the new cameras? Yes! Would you notice it in a print? no Would you notice it on a web sized image? no.

I love different lenses and the look they give, but I generally find gear, specs and sharpness a bit boring - for me, photography is a creative outlet and those things don't really matter too much in the end - some of the most iconic and moving images in human history have been taken with far inferior tech than most of us have today.

That said, I get more keepers on the R6/II bodies because the AF is so much better, but really ,there is only so much that can be said about camera bodies without going around in circles, imo

Fuji x-e1 as my main camera and a Fuji x-t50 for when I need faster autofocus, a rear screen I can view pictures on and IBIS

Fuji xt5 (only camera).

I have FF and APS-C Nikon, M43s and Pentax APS-C. I've voted M43 because that's what I seem to use most often, as my general purpose outfit. The others have specific utilisations (landscape, wildlife, B&W arty stuff)

Well I use a Nikon D300 with a D90 for “long-walk” days. ………

But LOVE my Nikon F3 and Canon A1

Nikon Z7 II full frame mirrorless. D3, D3S, D5 and D850 kept in the safe for old times’ sake... ;)

Sony A7Riii & A7, Fuji X100f, Yashica FX3 35mm film camera & a Voigtlander Bessa MF film camera but that one is more of a shelf piece although I have used it once.

I use the X100f quite a bit (more than the A7) but I'd still class the A7Riii as my 'main' camera.

I primarily take pictures with my Z6III now. However, I tote my D3200 happily on occasion since I invested a good bit into glass for it.

35mm film because I like being able to achieve a 'finished'/ distinctive look without playing around in photoshop.

I use Medium Format Mirrorless (not listed in the voting) as well as Full Frame Rangefinder (technically mirrorless) as well as Cropped Sensor Mirrorless and M43 Compact (also technically mirrorless). Then there are my Medium Format Film Cameras and my 35mm SLR plus my 35mm Rangefinders. They all (except the 35mm stuff) get used equally depending what I am shooting. I haven't voted though because there isn't an option for multiple votes and not all my kit is covered in the list.

I have a selection of kit too, with a few different formats, sensor sizes etc.. There's a decent bridge in the mix as well but what tends to get grabbed for a quick outing (rarely make specifically photographic trips) is one of the compacts - a Fuji X-30 if I have big pockets or a Sony SR-100vi if it needs to slip into a shirt pocket.

Photography is work so between me and my missus at the moment we have:

Sony A9III, A9, A7RIV, 3 x A7IV. I mainly use the A9III and the missus mainly uses the A7IV’s.

For non work stuff I have a Sony A7CII. Recently also got a DJI Osmo Pocket 3 which while it takes stills is an action type camera for vlogging. Have been using it a fair bit but can’t really count it as a main camera although I will prob use it more than the A7CII.

My daughters both still live at home and my eldest has an A7III and a beat up old Nikon entry level DSLR plus an always increasing selection of compact cameras. Our youngest has a Fuji bridge camera can’t remember what model and a couple of compacts. They both also have Instax Polaroid type cameras as well. They mainly use their phones.

Sony A7cii (+ 4 lenses) as my main camera and a RX100vii as my slip-in-my-pocket camera for whenever I leave the house not intending specifically to do photography.
Never seen the need for owning multiple bodies.

I don't have a "main camera" but the nearest thing is the tiny Ixus 70.

Ixus 70 on Atlantic lightweight tripod D600 211206 4954.JPG

It lives in a pouch on my trousers belt!

Sony a7Riv, a7iv and a6700.

Canon 7Dii and 50D, other half has an 80D. These continue to serve us well.

I was a bit stumped because I use my S1 & M10 camera bodies more or less equally - but I voted for the mirrorless because I have more lenses for it, and it's more versatile.

Sony FF mirrorless.

Is it not a cropped mirrorless?
Yes
If the original question had been APSC Mirrorless, then M43 would have been ‘left out’, but M43 is indeed a cropped mirrorless camera (less than 35mm dimensions)

Tough one... but the camera that got the most use is my D500 Nikon...

Having just acquired a Z8, the D500 still gets more use, probably more due to the subject type. Still prefer the handling of a DSLR over ML.

I have cropped DSLR (x1), 2 FF DSLR, 1 ML (Z*). 4 film cameras M645, Z-1p, P50 and T70.

Sony a9 and a Canon M5

I have toyed with the idea of an upgrade on the Sony but have only used it maybe a couple of times in the last year or so. I am currently in Spain for a month, packed the little M5 and a couple of lenses but haven't taken it out of the bag in the first 2 weeks.

Maybe it's time to look for another hobby

WOW nearly half on FX Mirrorless already!

That surprised me
It doesn't surprise me tbh, I'd guess a lot of enthusiasts are gear heads too and like to try out the latest gadgets, and as there's not as much weight penalty with full frame mirrorless over the smaller formats more people will be inclined to buy into it (y)

Agreed.

Also no surprise bu telling is that nearly 70% is mirrorless.
Slightly surprised that dSLR is over 25%. I wonder when and at what % that will level out
