Yes
am in the market for a tablet.
Thinking about new intuos 5 touch .
But its touch function got me thinking....
Anyone that has magic trackpad, tried to use a pen on it and see how it feels to a proper tablet ??
Wacom is selling Bamboo pens that work with iPad so similar device-pen will work on magic trackpad...

so...anyone???

pens dont usually work on touchpads, the contact doesnt register. the small ipad type pens arent amazingly accurate for use on the ipad either.

in fact ive just tried my ipad pen on a dell laptop and it work but extremely patchy and you have to press pretty hard.

bamboo pen is made for iPad so maybe it would...even on apple web site they 'suggested' using one...

saw it...small chance that magic trackpad is better ?
or am I having high hopes and still have to spend £300 ;D

doubt it would be much better to be honest, like i say the accuracy (or lack of) would be the same if anything.

dont "need" to spend £300. the wacom bamboos are much cheaper if you have a lower budget.

I upgraded my Intuos 4 to a 5 a couple of weeks ago... and I've gotta say I'm disappointed. The 'touch' isn't nearly as responsive or as intuitive as a Magic Trackpad and is annoyingly flaky. You can disable the touch function with a shortcut key and mine stays off nearly all the time now. There aren't really any other significant advantages over the Intuos 4 so if anyone else is thinking of upgrading I'd make sure you try one first.

I've got a 4XL, brilliant bit of kit. I've got a large 3 I upgraded from and an old A3 sized serial one too that I need to find a home for sometime.

Having been used to the simple A3 tablet I find I don't use the buttons much as I combine with the keyboard, but I really like using the larger Intuos rather than the small bamboo ones. I find it give me much more control.

Are you selling one of yours by any chance?

I really should get around to it. I'll see if I've time to put an ad up tonight.
