It does not say the 5D mk1 on there,so not sure.

Who has ML on their 5D MK1 & does it work with no problems.:)

Does anyone have magic lantern on their 5d classic & if so is it worth the trouble of installing it,any problems with it.
I am trying to decide wether to try it or not, maybe worried about trying it.

Why would you want it? What does it offer you? I know someone who had issues with a 550d

That is my question.:)

The only thing is time lapse I no some canons dont have it. Other than that its pretty poor. If tries to make the camera do tjongs its not designed to. Like on the 550d shoot video for long periods over writing the safe guards inplace... so thus itll over heat and die.

If I was you enjoy the body and if u want time lapse and stuff but a remote for £13 off ebay. Dont risk it for a program

I can't see any real advantage of using Magic lantern with a 5D MK1. It's main advantages is when the camera is used to shoot video, as it gives some additional functionality, but you need a MK2 or Mk3 for that

Cheers guys,i think i will just leave it alone then.

I know this is a relatively old post (ish) - For what it's worth. I am installing it onto my 500D as there are no manual modes for the video option on the camera which is a bit of a pain. When it is completely up and running I will be posting some stuff on here, if it's any good of course.
I am quite looking forward to trying to film in RAW mode (if I have fast enough and big enough cards!), the 5-8 bracket HDR (500D can only do 3!) looks exciting and motion detect. Just everything about it appeals to me, I'm sure if I get fed up I can quickly reinstall the latest firmware.

You don't actual change anything on the camera, ML is kept on one or more CF cards and if it's not in your camera, everything is as before.

It gives you zebras and peaking, which, let's face it, was a silly decision from Canon to leave out.

HDR video is an interesting idea.
