Last week I had a phone call from the Digital Photo Magazine.......
My wife thought it was a sales call and didn't think much of it as they wouldn't leave a message........ They phoned other 5 or 6 times during the week until she asked what was it regarding? Which they said it was regarding a Photo I sent to them on a competition......Then next day I waited for the phone call and bingo!!!!!!
"A promotion of 3 magazines for £3.00 without obligation......."::bang:
Is there some organization I can complain about their method?:rules:
Is it worth it?
 
That's not on is it. I hate sales calls.

I have a feeling when you submitted your details along with the photo, there will have been a tick box to untick, which states they can contact you with offers.

If you email them and explain you want your details removing from the marketing, then they will oblige.

That's fair enough, but they specifically mentioned "it is about the photograph he enter on a competition"

It is just the principle!!!!!! nothing else......

It's just a straightforward lie, isn't it? Why would any of us want to do business with somebody who lied. I know which mag I would never buy again. :thumbsdown:

I am getting the three mags for £3, then I will stop direct debit!

Pretty shabby ploy that, not sure if its relevant in this case as by entering you might have ticked/unticked a box to allow them to call but.........

I have registered with the telephone preference service

It lets you opt out of unsolicited calls, I was pestered with cold calls for months, 4 or 5 a night, two weeks after registering, I was down to one or two a month and you can report these if you could be bothered.
 
If theyre using a comp entry as a ruse, then that's damn naughty indeed :nono:
