I was looking last night on my tablet at magazines but there was quite a few choices so just wondering if anyone has suggestions as to which they think are the better ones

I probably should of put photography magazines to avoid suggestions like that but nvm :) (i searched just to see if it was real to my suprise it was)

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I find Outdoor Photography magazine a good one.

I'm as interested in the subjects and the articles about the locations or animals as I am in the photography itself. Others are either kit obsessed, little more than buyers guides or they just repeat the same old techniques over time.

Only ones I ever bother to intermittently buy are Digital SLR and Amateur Photgrapher when it has more than one article that interests me.

All the monthlies repeat themselves after a while, but do like a magazine especially now the stall in our Monday market has loads of different back issues for a quid each or three for two-fifty

Just discovered Wonderpedia, Walking and Heritage Railways, last one is great for a bit of nostalgia
 
I think the only magazine I've bought in over 3 years (because of the repeating mentioned earlier) would be "Black & White Photography" but it's been the dead tree edition, and I'm not even sure if they do the intangible version.
 
Another +1 for Black and White Photography, and I have the digital subscription. The other one I subscribe to is British Journal of Photography, again digitally.

There are several online only magazines I read, some paid for and some free.

I also read Aesthetica from time to time - not specifically photography, but art and culture based. Some issues have more photography than others.
 
AP was reduced to just over £40/year on Zinio a couple of weeks ago - worth keeping an eye out as Zinio regularly have special offers. From what I could work out, buying one issue as a single of a magazine you are interested in gets you on the Zinio list to receive special offers on that magazine from time to time. And special offers are frequently cumulative.
 
I get 'Digital SLR photography' and 'Digital Camera' magazines. I quite like the 'mission factfile' interviews in Digital Camera.
 
My favourite photography magazine is EOS Magazine, if that is relevant to you, published quarterly and available in print and digital formats. If you want to keep up to date, Amateur Photographer is weekly.
 
PhotoPlus magazine is another. Available as a hard copy or digital. It is brand specific ie: Canon etc.

It's ok and quite informative but as has been said before after a while get repetitive.

Personally, I'd pop into Smiths or similar and take a look first hand then decide.
 
I have been a subscriber of digital photo for a few years now & have found it to be very useful. Full of camera techniques and photoshop tutorials. I pad version works very well too. And no I don't work for them.
 
My suggestion is something I did years ago.

Stop buying photography magazines which are not much more than advertisements now and spend your money in charity shops buying books about photography.
