Thats a cracking week 6 pic, especially with the restrictions in taking the picture. Excellent expression on the face :clap:
 
Lovely picture. At first I thought the object on the left was distracting but actually, after looking for longer, I think it helps.

The DoF is perfect. Well done.
 
Thank-you everyone. I will take the comments on board and see if I can make the image better!

This week should have been easy, but I found that some of the clutter in my house would have been too embarrassing to post, would probably show me up in a bad light, lol! So, keeping that in mind, here is are the crocks after a meal waiting to go in the dishwasher, mixed in with various child related paraphenalia!

Week 7: Delicate.

I had lots of different thoughts of what I would photograph this week, I took lots of flower shots, some photos of my kids but in the end, something completely different came up and I can't think of anything more delicate.

I shot this as part of my 365, on the day that the NHS announced their plans for Children's Heart Surgery. They propose that the number of surgical units should go from 11 to 6 or 7 bigger units. This is a subject close to my heart as my middle son was born with a heart condition and had open heart surgery at 9 months old. I am very fortunate that his unit is not earmarked for closure, but I have a lot of friends who will be affected. The work each and every paediatric heart surgeon does is amazing, what can be more delicate than working on the tiniest, poorly hearts?

Somehow I missed your week 6 and have just seen it now when coming to look at your week 7, so I'll do a quick catchup here.

Week 6: Indeed clutter, although your kitchen looks a lot tidier than mine (and I only have 1 child to contend with :lol:). I like your b&w conversion and the DOF.

Week 7: Wow this is such a powerful message of a photo and very creative. I like the way you have your hands cupped in the shape of a heart and the added splash of colour. I think a crop of the bottom up to where the paper is under your wrists would be better. This would make a great image for a campaign agains the closing of the units. I work for the NHS and feel the impact that these cut-backs are having, from both an employee and patient perspective. But that is a whole debate on its own. I hope for you and your friends that someone looks at the closure of these units and realises the importance of keeping them open.

Very creative, like the interpretation of the theme. Id agree that a crop would work a bit better but overall i think you've done a wicked job. Looking forward to seeing some more of your shots
 
Just having a quick catch up with my commenting.

I found clutter hard too - I mean how exactly can you make it look attractive :shrug:

Week 7 Delicate, beautiful. I agree with a closer crop. Probably square, and if you could get rid of the plate edge even better. Very emotive and works excellently
 
Thanks for the comments everyone. I obviously need to practice more at photoshop as everything I tried to get rid of the plate edge (I wasn't going to ruin my foamboard for the sake of the shot, lol!) looked obvious to me. Might be a shot I can come back to as my skills improve.

Ok, I admit I played a joker and skipped week 8 altogether, I was just so busy with a meeting, middle boy had a hospital appt and so on and so forth.

Now I am in by the skin of my teeth on week 9. I MUST try and get them done earlier in the week. So without further ado, I give you the best I could manage with a headache!

A nice image, lighting looks good, as does depth of field, the shadow is perhaps a little bit dark, but doesn't take anything away from your image. Well done with getting it done, Mine has been done today also, so you are not alone! :thumbs:

I really like this. The effect of Finished is enhanced by the emptiness that a lack of colours can portray sometimes. hope that makes sense.

great expression on the lion...he does look hard, but captures gentleness of spirit too to me, nice one. And agreed on the delicate pic, powerful message on an important issue, and a great shot
 
Thank you both!

Week 10 has been an busy, enlightening (excuse the pun) and fun week for me as I have had the pleasure of shooting some glamour type shots. All the shots were taken in the last week (well, Thursday to yesterday) and yes, I am afraid it's a Triptych, lol! I did nearly take a photo of my kids, seeing as I am fortunte enough to have a trio, lol!

Morning.. love the trio, especially the 'grunge' centre one, porbably the accessories that help..but there is something about the first. nice pose, but i my eye is drawn to her right foot,thinking the heel is sinking off of the image...its me but i wanted to mentionin case others felt that..maybe less crop?

That's a really good set there, the centre image makes the shot for me, if the 2 outer images have been cropped, then maybe perhaps not as much a tight crop? But it doesn't detract from it. Well done :thumbs:

Well done on the trio shot. I like the way you have arranged the photos in the triptych. The middle photo is my favourite and would look great as an image on its own.

Also just noticed that I missed your week 9, which I think is also a great shot.

Very nice set there - and they hang together as a set. You've done really well with the lighting/flash on those.

For me the middle one stands out as an exceptional image. Brilliant pose, expresion and composition. Great use of props.

The right hand one has good energy, a good pose and is well framed.

The weak link is definitely the left one. The model's pose seem contrived and unnatural. Also the framing needs more space - the crop is too tight for me. In this pic the model looks rather thick around the waist - which she probably isn't. If she had some space between her right arm and body she would look slimmer.

To me they all look very well lit, exposed and sharp. Well done. It would be interesting to see larger versions of them as individual pics.
