Perhaps it's called Out of Focus for a reason? It's a free country, and as far as I'm aware you can create threads as you feel fit, so long as you're not a robot. Grinch!

By the same token If I don't feel it really needed its own thread I can also comment (after all it's a free country (whatever that is))

There are quite a few threads like this. I have no problem with them and if it strikes someone else as funny that's a good enough reason for the thread to exist.

I suppose this could have gone in the WCMUT thread but surely it's no biggie to just post it in its own thread.
