Ive been playing around with 2 film cameras lately; an Olympus OM-10 and a Nikon f401x. Ive decided this morning, that the 401x is just waaaay too noisy when auto-focusing, which for me, takes away a lot of the enjoyment of going out and using a film camera. Instead, im going to try and use the OM-10 exclusively from now on. I currently only have a 28mm f2.8 lens for the Oly, so have this morning put bids on a 50 f1.8 and a 135 f3.5 on evilbay.

Hopefully Ill win both auctions, so that I can go out for some 35mm flavoured fun! :clap:
 
Presuming you mean the Zuiko ones then they're both great lenses and pretty common too so shouldn't set you back that much. The digi guys seem to prefer wider stuff so it tends to fetch more money.

The F401 is one of Nikon's worst (I know, I owned one) with terrible autofocus (only the F501 had worse focusing). If you did want to stick with Nikon and have an AF lens to go with it, something like an F90x will cost you no more than £40. However, I tend to agree that most of the time autofocus is unnecessary with back to basics film photography, so by all means stick with the OM10 instead! The lenses should be cheaper for one thing.

I only really bought the 401 as I saw it on ebay for absolute peanuts, and thought id give it a whirl. As I already had a couple of old AF-D Nikon lenses I thought it might be worth a punt. Im still interested in more Nikon 35mm bodies though if I can find them at the right price.

SWMBO hates it when I start looking on the internet :rolleyes: :D
