Those of you who do both, which is the most fun do you think?

I do both macro in summer , insects and wildlife/zoo animals in winter
Macro is more fun as I'm always exploring new places for butterflies and dragonflies

Wildlife macro is more fun for me but birds and mammals can be satisfying too though I would like a bigger lens for that :)

That's a great plan. Yeah that's what I'm thinking as well, I got a topic up on which telezoom to buy for wildlife but I am so worried my investment won't give me any satisfaction. With macro I know there is always TONS of stuff to shoot, you can go where you want, whenever you want and come back with hundreds of images where as with wildlife you never know what you will get.

Not that I'm saying I don't have patient and don't understand how wildlife photography works. But do you understand a bit how I'm thinking? It's really hard to come down to that final decision to buy that macro or telezoom lens because I love both things so much. When I see bird and squirrel images on 500px I get so happy, but I also get very happy when looking through macro images and see what people can come up with.

Macro is more affordable than wildlife (for me at least).

I have always wanted to take photos of birds but unfortunately the kind of images i am thinking of require a fat wallet :)
