Firstly, there are two versions of the 100/2.8 macro. The older one has a dc focussing motor whilst the later one is USM.
Pricewise, it would be a little expensive for the dc version and somewhere in the ballpark for the USM version provided that the "signs of use" are limited to small scuffs and not a scratched front element.
