hi guys need some help . need to know the best macro lens for my nikon d300
so i can get great pic s sigma or nikon thanks steve :suspect:
 
What are you aiming to shoot and what is your budget?!?
 
Sigma 150mm or for the best sharpness you can get in a macro, the Sigma 70mm.

Actually its not. And yes, I do have both.

The Nikkor suffers from quite a lot of CA and purple fringing for a prime - at least the VR version does.

The older 105mm is better if you can find it.
 
Why ignore the Tamron contender? The 90mm f/2.8 has to be worth including in the list.

You are most correct:)

I though long and hard... Nikon 105mm? Tamron 90mm? Sigma 105mm? Sigma 150mm? And I have literally, just this second fired off an email to Kerso ordering a Sigma 150mm Macro ;)

You made the right choice, the Sigma 150 makes a excellent 150 prime lens, + the macro, cant go wrong, this is one lens I have not heard anything Negative about ever.

I was so impressed with mine.

Who or what is Kerso?

I've only heard the name on this board.
