Macro lens question

I was wondering if I got an extension tube for my 60mm macro, will it focus closer to the object or keep the same distance away and 'magnafy' it?

Also my 70-300mm has macro at 180-300 at a 2:1 ratio, or 1:2 which ever is smaller lol is there anything I can use on that to make it a 1:1?

Adding tubes to your 60mm will make it focus more closely to increase the magnification.

Increasing the magnification of your 70-300 is not really practical using extension tubes....you'd need too many. A diopter filter would be the best way forwards although the quality of the image would be questionable.

I have been wondering the same thing recently. My 60mm gets in there but I want to see even more
