Yes
I have a sigma 105mm macro lens and some cheapo extention tubes , so i know i`ll have to manually focus but will i have to set the appeture before fitting the tubes? Many thanks Harvey

If there isn't an aperture setting on the lens then.......... yes.

You may want to get a torch too... as setting the require f11 means you won't see much in the view finder.... usually :)

If it does have an aperture control on the lens, then set to the llowest f# to focus and turn back to f8-f16 before taking the shot...

Good luck!

How do you set the aperture on a lens where aperture is electronically controlled by the camera if you lose connection to the camera? I think the lens stays wide open in that case but please correct me if I m wrong :)

This is what i was wondering

Or, if you shoot Canon just stop the aperture down with the lens attached then press and hold the DOF preview button whilst disconnecting the lens. This will then leave the aperture stopped down until you next connect the lens to the body.

Cheers
Steve
