What Tom's saying is 99.9% of the time manual focus used in macro.
lenses are a personal choice ,insects and flyer's (wasps bee's) I would go for
150 to give you a little space from subject.
Apologies for the thread resurrection but it's directly relevant.
I'm also looking for a macro lens for my D5000. I've read somewhere that as well as not autofocusing, some lenses might not allow auto-metering (is this called TTL metering?). How do I know if a lens will allow TTL metering?
