For nikon D90 and occassionally on D60 (manual focus)

Contenders are

Tamron 90mm £320
Sigma 105mm £399
Tokina 100mm £349
Nikon 105VR £599

Nice as it is the Nikon is pretty much discounted, altho it autofocuses with D60 as well its very expensive and the VR is apparently no good within 10 feet.

Can someone confirm the others are all full frame (looking to the future) and that they all autofocus with the D90, and can be used as a potrait lens in normal mode?

Opinions on each welcomed as well......

They all work as short telephoto / portrait lenses, review of Nikkor and Tamron HERE by Thom Hogan.

They are all full frame, and they should all AF with the D90.

It may be worth hunting down the previous Nikkor version before they put VR on it, have seen a few around used.

I got the Tamron SP90 and the Nikon 105Vr - prefer the Tamron over the Nikon for no other reason, it seems to focus quicker.

All of these will autofocus on the D90.

Where are you getting these prices from?

If you checkout this site, you will find that your quoted prices are way over-exagerated

I have the Sigma, use it extensively and am very happy with it. However, they are all great for macro, and for portraits :)
