I've a Canon 40D, and I've always been a 'wide-boy'.
I've a Sigma 8mm 3.5, a Sigma 10-20mm an a 17-85mm Kit lens and a 'niftyfifty 1.8.

I'm considering a macro lens and the one that springs to mind is :
Canon EF Fixed Focal Length Lens - 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM.

Anyone got better suggestions or other comments on this choice ?

Cheers

What about Sigma 105mm Macro?

Ive got it and its bloody amazing (its cheaper than Canon's) :)

The Canon is supposed to be a great lens (I have never used it) but the Sigma 105mm EX DG ( I do have this) is just as good and about £100 cheaper. Hope this helps.

I think they're both excellent.....the Siggy appears to be a tad sharper but has the disadvantage of an extending front element.

Thanks guys,

As you can see I like siggys, so you've put me on an interesting path.

The 105 looks good, plus, I always like saving money !

Cheers

Or you can have macro lens for free :)

It is called 'Reverse lens', you know that?
