I am just starting to dip my toe into the world of Macro. I don't see myself hunting down spiders and "mini beasts" more water drops and table to stuff, however never say never.

Currently I own an M50 with a range of lenses but not the 28mm macro.

I also own an R5 which is my preferred camera. The only macro lens I have is an EFS 18-135 IS and an EF12 II extension tube.
If I were to buy a dedicated macro lens what would be the best choice, The RF range doesn't seem to have much at the moment and I don't think that they accept extension tubes.
Is the Canon 100mm f2,8 that much better than the sigma or is the Canon 65mm better than both of the others.
Lighting wise I own a couple of flashes and a couple of torches.

Any other accessories that make life easier?

In my younger days when I had a family to feed every purchase had to pass the "want and need" test. Most passed the first but failed the second! I am no longer young and my kids have long flown the nest so the second part of the test never gets asked,

Any suggestions would be appreciated, then hopefully some of them may get a short mention in the GAS forum!
Also any you tube macro recommendations would be welcome.

I’ve used the canon 100 and 65. The 65 is more like a microscope so go for that one if you want extreme close up.

Other things that are handy are tripod or beanbag for support, and practice using the focus stacking/bracketing function.
