having tried my tamron 90 on my 50d.. i'm now keen to get closer.

can you recommend what extention i would require to use with my tamron.?

thanks.

Extension tubes, like Kenko, usually come in a set of 12mm, 20mm and 36mm giving you 68mm if you stack them all together. 68mm will give you around 1.5X magnification. Add a 1.4 Teleconverter and you can get to around 3X. You will need a flash or other light source as tubes and TCs cut down the light reaching the sensor.

Make sure the tubes you get support aperture control and AF.

Or just save up for the ultimate macro lens, the Canon MP-E 65mm

I use the Canon 100mm 2.8 with some extension tubes now and then... (depends on the shot and subject)

recently got a Canon MR-14EX Macro Ring Lite Flash that goes on it, same as normally would... but Oh does it make a difference!!!

few more other samples on my page..

if you can, budget for a ring flash and 100mm or 60mm 2.8 lens. :)

MANY THANKS GUYS...............
