I recently bought myself a Sigma 2.8 90mm 2:1 macro lens and have been reading up about converting it to 1:1 via diopters/filters/convertors etc but was just wondering what everyone from experience finds best?

Any recomendations?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks
Paul

I've used my Sigma 105mm F2.8 with a set of Kenko Extension Tubes with mixed result so far (I'm also new to this). I've also tried attaching a 1.4x teleconverter but find the DOF is tiny and I've been struggling to get great results.
Do a search on here for macro subjects and you'll find loads of helpful info.

Kenko tubes I would say are your best choice.

Not degrading the glass with any add on filters etc.

Although I know alot of poeple who use a raynox 150/250 ....... not sure if this would give you 'too' much magnification as you cant control it as much

While with the extention tubes you can change between the 3 sizes you get.

It increase my 1:1 macro to 2.5:1 and my standard kit len 18-55mm to just less than 1:1 with all the tubes.

only down side to with the tubes on there is a lil less light let in to if you use AF it probably wont work, but for macro I would suggest manual all the time.
