Macro: Extension tubes

i have been looking at trying macro photography, been reading about setups and rigs on here and i think im getting the jist of it and considering spending some money.......
My question is what is the difference between cheapo extension tubes and the more expensive ones, is it purely build quality??

Build quality, cheapo ones are manual, no aperture control, or auto focus, I would and did spend more and got a set of Kenko AF tubes, they have been great.
