Although I,m not an avid photographer - certainly not as much as I would like too be - I do enjoy taking close up shots of flowers, insects and the like.
I have a nikon D80 with 18-70mm kit lens plus I have also purchased cheap macro screw on lenses, which I have used, but they don't quite cut it for me.
I,m on a budget of course, otherwise I,d just go out a buy a sigma 105mm macro lens
, but I,m looking for other suggestions. Should I bite the bullet and get a dedicated fixed macro lens, or how about extension tubes? With extension tubes, I see there are 'dump' cheap types that don't extend the electronics, and the more expensive types that do - whats the pro's & conns for each?
Sorry for all the Q's, but its a complicated subject, and I want to spend my pennies wisely!
Cheers,
Texy
