As you may or may not know i've been having a dilema what macro lens to get. I went for the Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro and I am very impressed so far.

I just wanted to share with you the deal I got today. I returned to the same store that I got my 400D from in October and the same manager.

This is what I purchased:

Canon 400D battery grip Jessops Price £129.99
Jessops 360AFD Flash Gun Jessops Price £149.99
Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro Jessops Price £299.99
3 Year Warranty on Sigma £30.00
Thats a total of £609.97

AND

The deal I got was....

Canon 400D battery grip Price £90.00
Jessops 360AFD Flash Gun Price £99.99
Sigma 105mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro Price £269.99
3 Year Warranty on Sigma FREE

So I got it at a total of £459.98........

I am a very happy man, with some great new goodies to play with!! :clap:

And I know its a Jessops flash etc etc but dont knock it till you tried it!!, for £100 I really cant grumble.

Sounds like you are a master haggler. You've definitely saved a fair chunk there :)
 
how did you save that much? did you just haggle?
 
With Jessops, if they've had a slow week, they have a lot of discount to play with.
Hence the discount he got.
They probably worked it as well, saying he got all that stuff with his 400d to head office ;)
 
Do Jessops normally charge for the 3 year warranty on a Sigma EX lens then?

Edit, just re-read the post - £30 for a warranty that Sigma include with all EX lenses seems a bit cheeky :(
 
Do Sigma lens get a three-year warranty from Manufacturer or is it just one year?
 
According to Sigma's site the 105mm EX DG comes as standard with a 3 year warranty so how the 'eck Jessops had the nerve to try and charge £30 quid for it is lost on me. Also £129 for the grip! They were having a laugh surely. The 400D grip is available most anywhere for around £75-80
 
Its a Jessops Warranty. Repair/Replace type thing.

As for the Grip price, im just glad I have a local store with a human I can go and actually see if their are any problems or I want advice etc etc.

I'm very happy with the new equipment and I will be posting some of the results tonight!

i have the jessops flash gun and its a great piece of kit for the $$$$$ i got mine for £99.00 in October and its great, a little slow at first switch on but a great unit and the battery life is fantastic
