i recently bought my 1st macbook as my laptop went down one of things i wanted to do was upgrade to latest os x mountain lion several reasons whey icloud for one

anyway i can not upgrade the os system and are not stuck i know i will have to sell the macbook and upgrade so i can do this

what is the diffrence between the macbook and the macbook pro

i dont have brand new money will be looking for a good used one can any one help with specs etc as which one i would need as a minimum
 
mainly surfing the web some photo editing an some html work , and excell type work anything memory wise 2gb or above would work fine

just need something that i can use with the latest os system

i check with the os system with apple and said my spec macbook was not able to have mountain lion on so it would not download
 
you probably wont need anything special spec wise then if only some minor editing and just casual usage.. just make sure you meet the ML req's..

Make sure your Mac can run Mountain Lion.

Your Mac must be one of the following models:

iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
Xserve (Early 2009)

There are a few 'hacks' about on the internet if you really want to get ML working on your Macbook.

It is just an arbitrary limitation put on by Apple as to which machines, with a core 2 duo processor, can run it.
 
issue sorted got a macbook pro with mountain lion on at a very good price so macbook up for sale i just persumed it would be like windows i know there is limitations on them to but you can still get a very old pc to work with windows 7

oh well lesson learn't now lol
