Mac slow on Youtube

Hello Everyone,

I bit the bullet and got myself a brand new sparkling shiny new iMac last week. i find that you tube runs slow, its find on my 7 year old windows laptop thats crammed full of rubbish. I'm new to mac so any advice would be most welcome.

update flash player for starters. i find that causes problems on my windows machines, flash performance is appalling.

Also download Chrome and try that instead of Safari

It shouldn't be, but as a general advice I'd update youtube preferences to use HTML5 player rather than flash one. Flash is a bad bad thing. Sorry I can't remember where, but it shouldn't be too hard.

Flash has long been bad on the Mac compared to windows - that's just how it is.

That's probably true, but sufficiently less crap for it not to cause quite so many problems, at least when watching youtube.

Its just YouTube.com/html5 to set the preference if I recall??
