Hi just bought a Mac very nice but which photo edit do people recommend?

Lightroom 4 and Pixelmator. PM is very cheap, and does most of what PSE does, very very well. Available on the App Store.

I have PS6 on windows can this be swapped over to mac or do I buy another one.

I moved from iPhoto to LR3 then LR4 but have now settled on Aperture mainly because of the way it integrates with all my Mac kit.

Hi Nick

You can deactivate it and if you have the disc (sometimes they come with windows + mac disc) then you can put it on your new Mac. If you don't have the Mac disc, I believe you can contact Adobe and have the licence swapped from Windows to Mac...

I use PSE 8 and have recently picked up LR3 which I'm getting to grips with.

The fact you have a Mac is irrelevant as the same software for photo editing tends to be available for Mac and PC. The main exception being Apple's own Aperture.
It is not like other software (i.e. games, product stuff etc,.) that is never made for Mac and is a bit frustrating but them it is a much smaller market.
Mac's tend to be used by "visual" people so you will find most things are available in that field.

I have tried Lightroom, PSE 8 and Aperture and for ease of use I liked Aperture as it is more Appley (but I have used Apple for over 10 years so may explain that!)
I do however feel that Lightroom does more though so if I had just come from Windows and was used to having to use unintuitive software I would pick Lightroom

What software did you like on Windows?

Aperture 3 and Photoshop CS5 for me. Aperture for 99% of editing is enough.

IMO LR4>A3>LR3.

Rarely use "Photoshop" but I have PSE10 for whenever I need it.
