Mac Pro Question

The manual for my mid 2010 quad core mac pro say it can take up to 16gb (4 x 4gb) RAM. Apple support site and crucial say it can take 32 (4 x 8gb). As the Apple and crucial info is more up to date does to seem reasonable of me to assume that info is correct

may have had a "firmware update"?

get it from crucial then if it doesnt work you have some comeback from what they said should work..
