Just a quick one for any Mac OS experts - why does Mac mail mix email conversations up? I have several ongoing conversations in my inbox where in the right hand window that actually shows the email, it will show 'stacked' exchanges from totally different conversations. It isn't including these if, say for example, I reply to the top one, it quotes previous mails from that conversation only, so its a 'local' issue, but very annoying. I can't even see a reasons for it such as the mails having the same subject line, or similar email addresses or anything. Anyone else having this problem or knows how to stop it happening? :(

Mine does this as well. But only on contacts with nearly identical subject lines, so for example 'Website contact from....'. I nseem to have switched it off by going to the view menu and making msure rganise by conversation itn't selected

:banghead: you know when you search for ages, then find the answer just after you have asked for help. I think I have stopped it, Preferences > General Tab > untick 'include related messages' Just checked a few I know it was happening on and seems to have resolved it, but will keep an eye on it and try your suggestion too Hugh if I am still getting it.

You can click on view at the top of the screen and untick 'Organize by conversation' unfortunately this a known Mac Mail issue for most IMAP accounts, doesn't seem to be a real fix. People have tried rebuilding their inboxes etc but it just happens again. I have mine on classic view and have organize by conversations unticked to make life easier.
