Yes
Whilst out wandering round London today I visited Red Dot Computers in Old Street, very nice people in there whilst I was looking at the range of cameras and lens's I was made a pot of tea and was given a guided tour of the Range.

I have never looked at or picked up on before and I was surprised at the simplicity of the design and ease of use.

Has anyone else played with on of these.... I was very impressed and the build quality is great, and I like the idea of not having a mirror to go wrong.

Only issue is the cost, I would have to sell all existing cameras and lens's and most likely sell my self into servitude for the next 10 years to get the body and lens's required.

Can dream though...

M8 is a rangefinder, completely different to an slr, I'm not surprised you found it interesting, rangefinders are beautiful to look at and use.
Simple, much more efficient and compact than an slr, without all that bulk, weight and presence.....that's why I love mine.

Your not thinking of ditching the Nikon are you. I'm considering switching from canon to Nikon as you consider Leica.

NOt really mate if I one the pools or found a very rich widow coming to the end of her innings I might get one to play with but I like my Nikon's.... I am very happy with the D80 and D200.

It would just be a luxury addition to throw money at..... Have you seen the price of the body and the prices for the lens's....

Saying that I might have to become a bigamist and find several rich widows....

get an fm and some earplugs instead nigel

The M8 is a luuuverly camera, a bit too sensitive to IR light though for something so expensive. I still wouldn't mind one though ;)

A dream for me would be the m8 and the legendary NOCTILUX 50mm f/1.0 lens, there is rumours of the successor to the m8 being full frame, instead of 1.3x crop and the release of a 50mm f/0.95

Tris, He did mention the 50mm f.95 when I was there but the cost was rather staggering...

Very indiscreet camera though..

Dream cameras don't have to be digital, its only a convenience..:)

Saying that though, you still have to flog a testicle
or some other absolutely essential item of anatomy..

That's not a problem, as long as it's your testicle and me getting the camera

You could try a Zeiss Ikon - it's film though (not that it matters IMO :D). It's got a great viewfinder and it takes Leica M-mount lenses, though the Zeiss glass is very good anyway.
