M40 crash and recovery warning

If the dogs were in airline crates then lifting them out of the vehoilce and onto the bank would be no problem, incovenient perhaps but that#s all !
Before you all shout me down I have transported 20 or more dogs in a van for rescue confined in them
The advce has always been to get out of the vehicle if you breakdown, it also always been the case that many breakdown vehicles don't allow dogs in the cabs
it's down to the driver, so nothing new there, but who could expect any one to fit 12 dogs and 3 passengers in

I broke down on the M6 last year with my dog in the car - while waiting for rescue we got her out of the car on the lead and walked well up the embankment. When rescue arrived my wife stayed with the dog on the embankment until we'd got the car loaded on the flatbed, then we put the dog back in the car, while we got in the rescue vehicle. no problems
