Just got rid of mine a CBR1000 the good old sports touring version 24 year old, really sorry to see it go but the back just can't take the cold and wet any more. Used to load up with me, three large boxes, tank bag and rucksack for the Mrs on the back then off to Spain but couldn't get to the ferry these days. :(

Loved my CBR 1000 but it went to the scrapyard in the sky when 44 years of biking went down the slot a few years ago.

As for the the subject of this thread, if he had stayed out from the apex, he probably would have got round.

As I said earlier, all about getting the lines correct.

or just not riding like a bell end - if he'd slowed down a bit he wouldn't have had a problem either.

I saw one tosser today on the backroad from branscombe to farway cross, came up to the sharp left , tried to put his knee down and whoops , bike slid away from him and he only just missed going under the wheels of a hilux coming in the other direction - pillock. I stopped to make sure he was okay , and he was fine - the bike had definitely seen better days though. I gave him a lift up to the hare and hounds and all he kept saying was "the missus aint going to be happy about this" ... no s*** sherlock

I dont see the point in giving the guy a hard time i think he knows how stupid and lucky he has been, we see all sorts of sillyness on the roads cars or bikes or trucks. we are all human and get carried away.
bikes are fast and fun and even at 43 i am still learning and making mistakes but would not give up my bikes. I also still sigh when people explain to me how dangerous they are :-)

I did some track days and whilst it didn't give me any more road sense it made me a better rider. Not to be able to ride faster on the road but to have the confidence that the bike was far more capable than I was and not to get target fixated and if you trust the bike and don't panic you'll get round.
