I bought a Nikkor 50mm f/1.2 AIS Lens I always wanted, on ebay, in used but nice condition and the only problem is the focus isn't 100% smooth.

So my question is if anyone knows rather or not its possible to lubricate the focusing of your lens and how easy it is, or if you have to take it in somewhere. Probably expensive? This is a great lens so it would be worth fixing IMO.

Please help. :help:

If its really tight contact a prof. lens repairer for advice.
If its only a bit tight I 've used 151 Hi-Tech super Grease, but only very small amounts.
Cheers, :|

It's possible the lens just hasn't been used in a while which is causing the stiffness. Try rotating the focusing collar all the way in both directions a few times and see if it gets any smoother.

I had just this problem with a Mamiya lens I bought recently and it's fine now having been used a few times.
