Ltd Company Registration - DIY?

I wanted to register for a limited company with Companies House for my Brother in Law and was wondering if it's possible to do a DIY or use a 3rd party specialist firm?

Anyone's got any experience doing above and would like to share please?

We just bought an off the shelf company and changed the directors etc, that was a fair while ago, so things might have changed, but back then it was pretty straightforward...

I'd go off the shelf with a company like Jordans.
