LR6 fouled up :(

Hi All

Due to OS issues I had to restore my W7 Pro back to a date before my LR6 installation. So the desktop link went though I have the program installed on a different partition to the OS partition the program is still there but clearly something has been lost in the common files and or the registry as when I try to launch it I get the attached dialogue. I looked for the advised URL link to download the app manager but all I get is the CC version being offered

NB downloaded in readiness in case it is a sort of universal version???

So please can someone advise me as the best & proper way to get my LR6 'corrected'............................and overlay install perhaps???

PS whilst waiting for those with guidance for me here at TP, my continued Googling where there are links back to Adobe only open and refer to CC with no mention (looks like they stripped out all perpetual license help and support pages???) of how to resolve this issue with LR6

PPS FWIW the AAM in CS6 is there via the Help file but it just runs without resolving or reporting anything with its wait animation but of note ACRAW is version 9.1.0.441 and do I recall when I originally updated LR6 to 6.1 the LR AAM also identified ACRAW I think to version 9.1 so if my recall is correct would CS6 have been updated to that version at the same time???

PPPS In a Homer Simpson moment I forgot there is an AAM link on the programs listed on the Start Menu.................sadly this faults out whilst trying to launch

Of course! But opening that URL then diverts to the adobe app manager for CC where the information explicitly says its intended use is with CC products. I have downloaded that product but I am wary of installing it in case it exacerbates the situation but converting my LR6 into LR CC. Of course it may be a universal application that covers all (including older) perpetual license products but they are not also explicitly stated as covered by it?

Edit - the AAM not withstanding is am overlay install appropriate because as noted the original install was on a non is drive and in doing the restore I suspect I have also lost some 'common' files that likely need reinstating????

As for downloading the standalone version rather than CC - apparently it's the same download. What determines whether it becomes LR CC or 6 is how it is registered. CC is registered by a subscription plan and 6 is registered by a serial number.

(I know little about Windows and whether this is a foolproof solution. My advice is worth exactly what you paid for it!)

Thanks posting. I have my original LR6 download safely stored and my LR6 serial number

My concern is in this situation just is that correct methodology to make it "right".

When you install applications to a drive other than the default C:\ drive You need to know what you are doing.
Some applications will still l (as you have found out) install part of that application to the c:\. Some applications will be OK is you redirect redirected the user\documents folder.
Having part of an installation on the c: drive and other bits of it on another drive is never an ideal situation, it makes things doubly difficult if an operation performed on disk is not replicated on the other disk.
Why did you choose install Lightroom CC to a different partition? in terms of disk space it take up less than 1GB so is relatively tiny so I cannot see any advantage in installing it to a alternative partition.

To make it "right" just totally uninstall your hybrid install, you may have to delete\add\edit some registry setting as you now will have registry entries that reference the different parts of your Lightroom installation that are installed to your c: drive and the bits that are installed to your second drive.

After that you can install Lightroom to your C: drive as Adobe intended.
Only install applications to alternative partitions\drives if you need to know what you are doing.

Update

Having looked into it as much as I could find I did an overlay re-install and the installer recognised the presence of the previous installation and installed AOK to the same location, the installer did the LR6 "thing" of needing the serial number to be installed and registered online with my Adobe account but it was a straightforward a process as it could have been with as far as I can tell so far all my preferences et al in place.
Plus this method re-installed the AAM and by checking for updates the July one to 6.1.1 is there to download when I am ready to do so
