I'm using DXO as well as Lightroom 6.

Although DXO have been a bit slow giving us a new export to lightroom 6 plugin I still use their workflow but use the export to application (LR6).

Up to now I've been using transfer tiff32 but these files can be huge.

Is there a downside to using the DNG format to transfer files between the programs?

I have to admit, I'm a bit disappointed by noise reduction in LR6 so still using the DXO prime.

As a side question, is anyone else using DXO on win 10? Do you find it a little unstable?

DNG files use a lossless compression system, so they can be considerably smaller than files such as TIFF which is effectively a pixel for pixel format. The smaller file size should make transfer easy. However you need to check to see if encoding and decoding the DNG file gives any real advantage in speed . I wouldn't have thought the TIFF file would give any improvement in quality.
