LR5 cloning issue

When using LR4 my work flow involving cloning was done after cropping. Now doing the same thing in LR5 the sampled area sometimes defaults to outside of the cropped area. If this happens, I have to step back before the cropping and complete the cloning on the full image and then crop. It a right royal PITA...am I doing something wrong?

I'm glad it is not just me that has found this. I have been getting around it by increasing the size of the clone area, so it is big enough to show in the cropped image, then dragging it to a more appropriate area, then shrinking the clone area.
Its a PITA though, hopefully something that will be sorted with updates. I have just upgrades from LR3 and had heard good things about the improved clone functions

To be honest Matty, I upgraded and then didn't use the new soft as I'd left the LR4 shortcut on my desktop. I just carried on with 4....As I edit over 1000 images per week, I need a regular hassle free workflow... LR5 doesn't allow that in it's current configuration.

No, I process nowhere near that amount, so I guess I am happier to work around it. I would imagine it is something that would be addressed, seeing as it disrupts workflow so much.
Thanks for confirming it wasn't just me thinking this though!

I'll just stick with4 until its sorted. I'm happy now that someone else is seeing the same issue. I thought I'd got an unknown box checked or unchecked . Do you know if this has been raised to adobe ? I know that it is something that they were working on to provide a more efficient cloning tool. Looks like they really got it wrong ..lol

I don't know if it has been raised, but I can assure you I will be spending my working hours looking into this in the office tomorrow. Also finding it runs a touch slow compared with LR3, which I can understand, but a quick google suggests this might be affecting a few people. Maybe my MBP needs a little feather dusting!?!?
