LR5.2 RC now availible.

Is it just me who's missed 5.1, or did it something happen to it

Very strange they should add brand new features in an update......

And it is getting more and more complex every year. Are they adding new features we don't really need?

I think it's a long term plan, to keep the photoshop, premiere, etc., as part of the creative cloud and move photographers towards LR / Elements.

Of course, it's all speculation on my part, so could be complete rubbish

They did the same with LR 4. They added the colour correction tool in version 4.2, which is quite handy tool to have.

Yeah, Adobe seem to have given up all sensible version management (you know, number the releases consecutively, dot releases are bug fixes and tweaks, new functionality gets a new version number...)

Anyway, I can wait. Adobe's own advice is that 2 versions of LR don't play nicely on the same machine (or at least whenever there's a problem they tell you to scorch the earth and do a clean install). Also, they remind you nobody should be using live data on an RC version.

Did they mention speed at all?

Wow. When I installed LR5, it installed itself right next to LR4 - automatically. I wasn't even asked if I want to keep LR4 for all I can remember. I did get asked if I wanted to migrqte my catalogue, though. Luckily it's working fine. Both are working fine, actually, although I don't use LR4 anymore.

Yep, same here. I left LR4 on both my PC's and all have been working without issues, other than LR5 and its bugs.

It really shouldn't make a difference. But very often when people report issues to Adobe their very first response is that you should uninstall previous versions.
