LR4 missing photographs

What have I set wrong, or am I doing wrong?

When I look at the folder tree, in library mode, I see there are some photos missing. Even when I do a 'right click' and 'synchronise' the missing ones don't show? I've even tried renaming and putting them in a different folder but some shots just want to stay hidden :thinking:

there should be a question mark in the top right corner of the missing photos. If you click on this it will let you reatch them. Don't move or rename files outside of LR if you don't want it to lose them
 
You may want to try going to the import dialog box and un-ticking the "do not import suspected duplicates" box before synchronising.

You may have renamed them but LR sometimes recognises the previous original file name that is still in the exif and will not import them.
