LR4 Export Question

I've noticed in LR4 on a few occasions when exporting a .dng format to .jpeg, the final result is overexposed compared to the original image. The original image is of the order of 25MP and is being reduced to not greater than 8KB for upload to a web site.
The exposure is easily corrected. I've checked the export settings and can't see anything obvious.
I'd be grateful for any insights/suggestions.

Are you ticking the option to sharpen for screen when exporting.
8kb is very small, why so small?

Thanks for the response.
Apologies, that was a stupid typo by me. It should read 8000KB. No, I am not sharpening.
Also as I have just joined, I thought I'd try and upload the image into my gallery and I don't see the same increase in exposure?

In your export setting, what colour space are you using?

For the web they suggest sRGB from memory so if its anything else, that might affect the final image?

Thanks for the comment. It is indeed sRGB. Just to be clear, I see this increase in exposure within LR4, not in the web image. I like to export to a folder separate from the "working" folder, before I send anything off to a website. The LR4 Develop module for the exported image shows about 1.2 to 1.4 increase on the exposure scale compared to the original.

Hi Peter

Didn't realise this was still in LR4. Check the exposure setting - it can default to an increase of "x" based on previous application of the sliders. I know when I have processed a raw image it has gone way off the scale as a result.

I'm not in front of my PC so am as vague as vague can be !

Thanks, I'll check that our as it sounds like a possibility.
