LR4 background colour & texture used

I have been using mine, as it came, with a darkish grey background but have thought the edits that looked OK in LR were looking too dark in other programmes. So I am beginning to wonder if your eyes can play tricks on you when using differing background colours. Would I be better off using a lighter colour even white. But the latter means it isn't so nice when editing? Decisions, decisions :thinking:

the background colour will alter your percpetion of the image you are viewing.

In lightroom they call it lights or light fill

Press "L" or "Shift"+"L" to toggle through these - I find the pale grey works for me for overall completeness of the image with black and white both being good sense checks for web display / forum uploads etc.

Indeed. I only remember half a dozen or so but they're the ones I use most!

Let me hunt for a link I remember for a handy guide.

I think you'll need to make allowances for my age and 'sub par' (well actually well well sub par) brain & I may hit a --- what did you say --- 10% pass rate :D
