LR3 and PSE9 issues

Hi All,

Installed PSE9 yesterday which i want to use for the few buts i cant do in LR. Now, i have managed to set it up fine in terms of using the "edit in" option in LR to send an image over to elements.

However, i cant seem to get it to save the file back into LR once i have finished editing it in elements.

When i had LR and CS5 on my pc (i have now moved over to a mac) all you had to do was go to FILE>Save and job was done. Doesnt appear like it works this way with elements?

Can anyone advise?

When you send it to PSE9 do you have the "Stack With Original" box ticked in the dialogue box that comes up?

Also if you are using Edit a copy (which is all you can do in for a Raw file) then it also makes a copy of it as a Tiff/PSD or whatever you specified in your prefrences, if you change the file format when saving in PS then LR loses track of it.

Also saving it to a different folder will make LR lose track of it.

There does appear to be bug with PSE 9 in that if editing a none raw image as a copy you cannot save it in the Tiff format as this stops it from saving (also you cannot delete the generated Tiff from LR while PSE9 is open even if the image is not open in PSE9.

Using the PSD file format for saving cures these problems.

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the reply. Changed settings to send out of LR as a psd to PSE and when i try and save it back and click "save" it brings up the "save as" menu

So its definitely loosing the link somewhere!

I have absolutely no idea where though :(

Actually it's not, if you click ok to save in the save as dialog and than except to overwrite the changes it saves it back to lightroom as a PSD file with the changes you made in PSE.
