I asked a while ago about the best way to edit images in LR5 whilst away from the office using a MBP retina, and smart previews seemed the best option.
I'd just like some advice, step by step, on the process of how I would get images onto the laptop and back again to the main iMac once I'd returned to the office.
I currently upload via photo mechanic, do my picks, and then open in a new LR catalog for that job. I know on import I would have to select the 'build smart previews' box, but once it's done that bit I want to find out the best way of getting them onto the laptop.
I'd ideally like to keep the laptop LR catalog on the main ssd, and raws on an external drive.
