Does anyone else have this issue with LR ?

In Library mode using two screens
1. Is the main and 2. is the monitor screen. 2 is set to Loupe Normal and Full Screen.

When I select an image in Library the image appears on the loupe screen. I have this set to 1:1 and it shows a crisp sharp image. If I then select 'Fill' instead of 1:1 the image goes all soft on me ...

Is this normal and Im missing somethin obvious or is it a problem... The image in 1:1 in most cases is larger than the Fill option image.

Also I have Auto Advance set to on in the Photo drop down...occasionally it deselects itself...Not a problem but if I am in Develop mode, I have to go back to Library mode in order that I can select it again.. Why does this happen and is there a setting I can use to permanently select it ?

is it staying soft, or is it only for a short period while it generates the preview it needs for fit?

The image displayed 1:1 will always be crisper than an aliased version.

It may be the aliasing of the monitor if it's a cheap panel. What monitor are you using?

A good way to tell would be to take a screen grab by pressing "prt Scr", then opening photoshop, create a new file by pressing CTRL+N, then pasting in your screengrab from the clipboard by pressing CTRL+V (sorry if I'm patronising you... but it saves time in case you're a beginner).

Now look at your captured image at 100%. If it's just as blurry on the screen grab then it's a Lightroom rendering issue. If it's sharp on the screen grab, then it's your monitor.

Let's establish that first.

You can make it so that it doesn't automatically advance. I set up my Lightroom last week when I was rating images from a recent shoot to auto advance. Can't remember how though. Is it one of the checkboxes under the image display?

For the record, my second screen preview is always sharp, but is best at 1:1.
I guess that's just the screen resolution though. I can't wait until we start getting hi-res 'retina' like displays for pc's.

4k displays are around now. They're just really expensive compared to the iPad screen due to physical size.

As they are currently designed for CAD and ATC systems they aren't really optimised for photo work.. no hardware LUT, limited gamut etc, but as panel prices drop, expect to see 4K screens in around 2 years or so.

Sorry for the delay getting back on this one, I've been quite busy.

Just going over my issue again, Where I said 'Fill' in the original post, it should have been 'Fit'

As this changes the whole issue I will answer your question as if it was Fit and not fill.

Fit is not as sharp and remains that way ..

When I Prt Scn I get both Monitors displayed.
The monitors are the dell 2405's

I want the Auto Advance on permanantly,The issue is that it sometimes just deselects itself, I then have to go back to Library mode - Photo - Auto Advance and tick the selection again...Which is annoying and time consuming.. This is the issue.
