LR 4 publish plugins problems

Hi chaps, I'm really struggling with LR4, I really only need 2 publish plugins one for flickr and another for my iphoto, so I have found a couple that seem to work but LR keeps changing things ... honest ... I set up the jl Flickr plug and all worked well then when I try and use it again it's not registered ... this, among several other irritations like I don't seem to be able to delete stuff in plug-in manager ("Remove" is greyed out), and where should the plugins go - I can open the programme contents on my mac and put a plugin into the plugins folder but when I try and add a plug "Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 4" is greyed out so I have to put the plugs in some other folder - it just keeps p'ing me off, it seems really flaky - or is it me ... anyone any advice please or a pointer to a good tutorial.

Have you activated the JF Plugin? I use the "Show in finder" option to show where in the file system my plug ins are, then drop new ones in that folder before adding them to Lightroom.

Thanks Lewis, my grumpy post was a knee jerk reaction to a couple of frustrating hours of fiddling, I really find it non-intuitive but have calmed down now and seem to have got it working, good of you to take the time.
